This past weekend was fun and FULL of laughter. Although it was the people associated with the things that made the weekend so great, I still want to share 5 of my favorite things…
1. Wii Sports
3. Starbucks on 39th Street and 8th Avenue
When I meet up for coffee and long conversations with friends in the city (like I did on Saturday), this is my “go-to” spot. It has the only coffee that I drink (Caramel Frapps), a friendly staff and an upper level of spacious seating. Most people go to more crowded Starbucks in the area/don’t especially know about this one, so “Shhh. Don’t tell.”
4. GustOrganics
If you are ever looking for a vegan, vegetarian or gluten free restaurant option in the Chelsea area, try this one out. I was meeting up with a vegetarian friend for brunch after church service on Sunday, so we me there. She enjoyed her vegan scramble (grated, seasoned tofu w/ shiitake mushrooms, onions &fresh veggies) that was served with rustic potatoes and a mixed salad. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my gluten free taco salad (Free range chicken, black beans, avocado, corn, tomato, cheddar, mozzarella, shredded romaine and topped w/crunchy tortillas, in chipotle ranch). I ordered it because it had avocado in it and I’m a little bit obsessed with avocado at the moment. It ended up being one of the best salads that I have ever tasted…and it was filling.
5. Target gift cards as teacher gifts
True confession: I broke the law by giving Michael’s teacher a cash gift back in December. (I didn’t know until my teacher husband informed me that NYC public school teachers couldn’t receive cash gifts. Oops!) That’s probably why his teacher made a point of mentioning that she had spent the money on things for the classroom. In any event, I made sure that both Sean and Michael’s teachers would be able to enjoy their end of the year “thanks” by getting my normal gifts – Target gift cards! Everyone can find something that they want/need in Target, right? I slipped the gift cards into thank you cards that the boys had made along with pictures. My school “work” for the 2011/2012 school year is officially over. Yes!

Amazing choices of great activity you always used to do, honestly speaking I never tried planning my list, I think that I should try this on my own.
