About Foodie City Mom
Launched in June of 2011, Foodie City Mom is the new online home of Kimberly Coleman who was known online as “Mom in the City” since June of 2005. The goal of this site is to actually help readers learn how to cook (better) as Kimberly learns more herself. Although the primary readers will be busy city moms, everyone is welcome!
Five things that you will find on this site:
1. Greenmarket farmers markets, seasonal, artisan and ethnic food highlights
2. Recipes from Kimberly’s personal collection, family and friends
3. New York related recipes (from NYC based restaurants, fairs, festivals, food trucks, celebrities, cooks, chefs, nutritionists, cooking classes, etc.)
4. Highlights of exceptional NYC products, services and events
5. Kimberly’s thoughts on parenting her two sons (Michael – 7 and Sean – 4) in the city.
There are certain things that you will not find on this food and lifestyle blog though…
-Kimberly doesn’t (normally) get involved in food politics.
-She keeps an eye on the pulse of trends and will alert her readers to them, but she is definitely not a trend chaser.
-Lastly, she is not the food police. Like with parenting, Kimberly tries to avoid extremes when it comes to food. She definitely advocates healthy eating choices for the majority of meals. However, her goal is to inspire – not guilt – readers into making better choices. Since she is not buying readers’ groceries and cooking their family meals, she just doesn’t feel right about a “should” tone to her posts…
You can read the Foodie City Mom site policies (Disclosure, Giveaways and Reviews) on the Policies page.
