Congrats to the winner: carol lewis
Last week, iVillage reached out to me to see if I wanted to host a giveaway featuring some of the products from their first ‘Stuff We Love Awards’ (www.ivillage.com/stuffweloveawards). I responded that I didn’t have the time to administer a giveaway (August is camp month!), so they just sent me the bag to keep for myself. It included the following:
-United States of America puzzle from Melissa & Doug (I love Melissa & Doug products, but we already have a USA puzzle, so I will be giving this to a local reader.)
-Johnson’s baby lotion (My sons have sensitive skin, so they only use Eucerin lotion based on their pediatrician’s advice, so I’ll be giving this away too. )
-Every Man Jack deodorant (After noting the correct spelling of deodorant – not deoderant or deodarent – I gave it to Reggie. The spelling actually makes sense, since it’s getting rid of odor. (As my husband lovingly jokes on occasion, “So, that’s what you learned at Columbia…” Oh well, that is why spell check exists!)
-Ped Egg foot file (I already have 2 – my mom gave me one. I thought that I had lost it, so I bought another one. Then, I found the first one, so now I have 2. My feet need the help!) I wonder…how can I give this away without insulting the recipient?
-One Second needle (I will actually keep this. I am such an “As seen on TV” product fan that it is ridiculous. This needle is so easy to use that I just might end up sewing on some of Reggie’s missing buttons.)
-Lissé Leggings (With “peace love & great legs” as a tagline, will try out these “revolutionary tummy control” leggings!)
At this point, you’re probably wondering why I’m writing about this giveaway if there isn’t actually something for me to give away to one of you. Well, there was one item that was added to the giveaway, the Mint automatic floor cleaner. I just feel compelled to give that to one of you. The majority of my home is covered with carpet (thanks 80% carpet covering coop rule!), so I won’t be able to use it. I checked various shopping sites and the Mint cleaner has received predominately positive reviews. It automatically dusts and wet mops hard surface floors using “disposable electrostatic cleaning cloths” and reusable microfiber cloths. (Thankfully for me, Reggie is my Mint. He does the dusting and mopping. I clean the bathroom and do the laundry. It works for us!) See how it works:
In any event, enter to win the Mint automatic floor cleaner by voting for the stuff that you love over at iVillage until Tuesday, August 9th. Leave a “Comment” below saying that you did so. After the 9th, you can comment below by sharing another household chore (besides cleaning the floors) that you wish would be automated. This giveaway is open to Foodie City Mom newsletter subscribers and it will end on August 31st at midnight. Good luck!

I'd love something that would do all my laundry!
I'm a subscriber and I wish that doing laundry would be automated. It certainly helps to have a machine at home, but gathering and sorting all of it is no fun at all.
I would like to have something automated to clean the tolets
i wish that cleaning the toilet would be automated. scrubbing bubbles has a gel that you stamp in the bowl to "clean it" every time you flush, but do i have to get INSIDE the toilet to do it? ew!
